Grandpa

Grandpa sat on the family room couch watching a program on a large screen television. Also present were three little Granddaughters and all were watching a National Geographic program about animals. They were having a great time together learning about the animal world.

Grandpa's 5 year old Granddaughter looked up at her Grandpa and asked "Can we play a game on dad's computer?"
"Well sweety you will need to ask your dad for permission." Grandpa answered
"Ok" and off she scurried in search of her dad.

A few minutes passed and she returned declaring "Dad said we can." and the three girls excitedly jumped up and went to play on the computer.


After a short period of the girls enjoying a fun game on the computer their father appeared and asked,
"What are you doing, you know you are not suppose to be on my computer, stop the game now and please get off."

Grandpa didn't want to get his beautiful 5 year old granddaughter in trouble but knew that his granddaughter needed to take responsibility for her behavior so he told her father what had transpired with her saying her dad approved of them playing on the computer.

The 5 year old was then taken to the next room and had an earnest talk about honesty with her father.

After some time had passed Grandpa noticed the 5 year old standing behind the doorway peaking into the room and then withdrawing, peaking into the room and then withdrawing.

"Come here" Grandpa declaired and the young girl rushed over to her grandfather and snuggled up beside him on the couch.

Several minutes passed and in almost a wisper the granddaughter said, "Grandpa I am sorry for lying to you."

"You know everyone makes mistakes" Grandpa replied, "but I want you to know one thing your Grandpa loves you very much and no matter what, he will always love you."


Off went the beautiful 5 year old to play with her sisters.
